Important Information for Your Ride We want to ensure you have the best experience possible, so here are a few things to keep in mind before your trail ride with us: When reserving your ride, please note that the number of horses prepared will match the number of riders you've paid for. For example, if you reserve for three riders but only pay for one, only one horse will be ready. Unfortunately, due to our tight schedule, we won't be able to accommodate last-minute additions when you arrive. Donations alone do not secure a reservation—each rider must be fully paid for in advance. Our trail takes you through the scenic, sandy paths of the Apalachicola National Forest. We recommend bringing essentials like sunglasses, sunscreen, water, bug spray, and a hat for your comfort. Also, please remove any items from your back pockets, as they may fall out during the ride. If needed, we can provide pouches for your extra belongings. Please plan to arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled ride time. This allows us to complete check-ins and provide important instructions. Punctuality is key, as we have multiple rides throughout the day and need to stay on schedule. Late arrivals may miss the ride entirely, especially for weekend, holiday, or Moonlight Trail Rides, which cannot be rescheduled. For weekday reservations (excluding holidays and special rides), you may reschedule once with a 24-hour notice via phone call or text. Refunds are only issued if we cancel due to severe weather. However, you can reschedule a non-holiday weekday ride once if needed. Please note that weekend, holiday, and Moonlight Trail Rides are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled. Feel free to bring treats for the horses—they love carrots and apples (please cut apples into quarters). If you'd like a photo on your horse, let us know upon arrival. It's easier to capture these memories before the ride begins. Dress appropriately for the weather, as our rides continue rain or shine. Closed-toe shoes are a must; no flip-flops, high heels, or slip-on shoes. We have ponchos available for $2 if needed. For those wishing to wear a helmet, please ensure your hair is down—no updos or high ponytails. Riders under 18 are required to wear helmets. Lastly, our guides are volunteers who generously donate their time to work with the rescue horses. While tips are appreciated, they are by no means required. We look forward to sharing this unique experience with you!
